The primary purpose of this program is to provide written Narcotics
\nAnonymous Step Guidance to any incarcerated addict desiring recovery with\u00a0Narcotics Anonymous.<\/p>\n

GUIDELINES<\/strong><\/h1>\n

REQUIREMENTS:<\/strong><\/p>\n

Addicts on the outside are able to choose someone to guide them through the\u00a012 Steps of Narcotics Anonymous by listening to them in meetings, and seeing\u00a0how they live outside of meetings. Although circumstances do not make this\u00a0possible for incarcerated addicts, our committee has set up a process by which\u00a0we choose a Step Guide to help guide incarcerated addicts through the Steps of\u00a0NA and help them grow in recovery. All the Step Guides have shared their\u00a0commitment and willingness to help incarcerated addicts write the steps, as\u00a0well as meeting certain requirements. The Step Guides will remain anonymous,\u00a0using Code ID Numbers, they must have a minimum of 2 years clean, attend\u00a0NA meetings regularly, work their steps in writing, and have completed at least\u00a0the first five steps with an NA sponsor. For all general purposes we will define\u00a0SG – Step Guide (Sponsor) and SW – Step Writer (Sponsee).<\/p>\n

1. The STSRCF (Southeastern Tennessee State Regional Correctional\u00a0Facility) Coordinators will be provided a form that will designate a\u00a0Code ID Number for all inmates participating in this program. They\u00a0will be made Anonymous at all times.<\/li>\n
2. The UCASCNA will also be provided a form that will have\u00a0a corresponding Code ID Number for Step Guides.<\/li>\n
3. All correspondence from the STSRCF will be mailed to the
   \nUCASCNA on a weekly basis in one large envelope.<\/li>\n
4. Upon receiving the correspondence, the Secretary will match Code\u00a0ID Numbers and immediately mail them to Step Guide.<\/li>\n
5. All correspondence will be logged in a permanent file of date
   \nreceived and date mailed to Step Guide with corresponding Code ID\u00a0Numbers.<\/li>\n
6. The Step Guide has 2 weeks (14 days) to respond to the\u00a0UCASCNA Secretary with the completed correspondence with\u00a0Code ID Number clearly stated on envelope.<\/li>\n
7. All correspondence will be mailed to STSRCF in one large envelope\u00a0to be dispensed by their Coordinators on a weekly basis.<\/li>\n
8. At all times we must adhere to the STSRCF Security Guidelines.<\/li>\n
9. At no time during the correspondence will there be arrangements for:
   \nRIDES, VISITS, LOANS, PHONE CALLS, MATERIALS FOR<\/strong>
   \n CORRESPONDENCE, PHOTOS, BOOKS, DRAWINGS, TAPES OR\u00a0CD’s, CONTACTING FAMILY MEMBERS OR FRIENDS<\/strong>, will be\u00a0made between Step Guide and Step Writer.<\/li>\n
10. The 12 Traditions of NA will be strictly upheld.<\/li>\n
11. At no time will our NA member’s anonymity be compromised.<\/li>\n
12. At no\u00a0time will our Step Guides identity, address or any personal
    \ninformation of family or other NA members be disclosed.<\/li>\n
13. Any violation of these guidelines will result in immediate termination\u00a0from this program.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n
